Dōsys builds Bayesian dosing calculators for hospital pharmacy whose models, equations and checks are published for the clinicians who use them. It has two products: Vancomyzer, a Bayesian vancomycin calculator for adults, and a parenteral nutrition calculator in evaluation release. Neither has completed independent clinical validation.
Who makes it
Founded and built by Mario Cardenas.
Mario Cardenas, PharmD, MBA, an ICU clinical pharmacist and pharmacy preceptor in McAllen, Texas, is the founder and sole developer. He is the contact for questions about methods and for proposed evaluation studies.
How the tools are built
Four commitments, applied to every result.
- Show the model and the assumptions used.
- State where evidence or input data are limited.
- Keep dosing decisions with the treating clinician.
- Provide results that can be reviewed and documented.
What the company is working on
Current priorities.
